How to Wash a Baseball Cap Without Ruining It

A dirty baseball cap creates an annoying problem.

You want the sweat, oil and smell gone — but you don't want to sacrifice the crown, brim or fit that made the cap comfortable in the first place.

The safest cleaning method depends on what the cap is made from and how it was constructed.

Step 1: Read the care label

Before water touches the cap, check the manufacturer's instructions.
